According to a 2013 study, only 0.5% of all nationally licensed acupuncturists are also licensed as Medical Doctors (MDs). Dr. Chee is not only dual licensed as a Western Medical Doctor and in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), he is one of only a few physicians nationwide that is Quadruple board certified in Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Medical Acupuncture, as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Unique & Comprehensive Experience
Dr. Chee graduated from Oregon Health & Science University in 2001 and has been board certified in Family Medicine since 2004. He has received several distinctions during his education and training including a Student Leadership Award during medical school, and was a finalist at his medical school for the Senate Service Award. During his residency training at Glendale Adventist Medical Center, he was elected by his fellow physician peers as Chief Resident. As a resident, he also received the Resident Teacher Award from The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. He is also a student inductee to Delta Omega, the Honorary Society in Public Health. From the California Medical Board, he was an award recipient of the Steven M Thompson Physician Loan Repayment Program. For his service with underserved communities, he also was an Adopt an Angel Grantee recipient from Uncommon Good.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Dr. Chee first began formal studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 1997 in Beijing, China during the summer after his first year in allopathic medical school. Since that time, he has traveled to, and studied TCM in, China (Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong) numerous times over the years. He has been incorporating Acupuncture into his medical practice since 2010. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Emperor’s College receiving a degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2014 and has taught Integrative Medicine at the doctoral level at several Acupuncture Colleges.
Mind Body Medicine
Dr. Chee has extensive experience and training in numerous mind body modalities. He completed a yoga teacher training in 2006 and has over 11 years of experience with meditation. Dr. Chee graduated from the University of Santa Monica’s Spiritual Psychology program in Consciousness, Health and Healing in 2010 and has served on the University’s faculty since 2011. He has also completed additional training at Harvard’s Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine. As a physician pioneer in this field he was interviewed in the 2009 movie, “What if?” that also featured Dr. Bruce Lipton and Dr. Masaru Emoto.
